Mrs. Ashley McNeill, Principal

Mrs. Ashley McNeill is a native of Hartwell, GA. She graduated from Hart County High School in 2007. Following graduation she attended Emmanuel College obtaining her Bachelors of Art degree in Early Childhood Education. She obtained her Masters of Art Degree from Piedmont University in 2013. In 2015, she obtained her Educational Specialist Degree from Piedmont University. 

Mrs. McNeill’s teaching career began in 2011 at South Hart Elementary School as a Math Interventionist assisting students and teachers in all grade levels. Then in 2012, she began her coaching career serving seven years as the Hart County Middle School girls’ basketball coach.  During her classroom experience, she has taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. She was named South Hart’s Teacher of the Year during the 2016-2017 school year. 

Mrs. McNeill’s experience in school administration began at Hartwell Elementary in 2019 as assistant principal. This is her first year serving as a principal. Her belief and passion is in alignment with the district’s mission: To help prepare students to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

Mrs. McNeill and her husband, Mathius, have four children: Isaac (14), Abigail (13), Matthew (7), and Emma (5). Mathius is also employed with the Hart County Charter System and is a varsity football coach. Isaac is beginning his first year at Hart County High School and Abigail is beginning her final year at Hart County Middle School. Matthew and Emma both attend Hartwell Elementary. Mrs. McNeill and her family are believers of Christ and currently attend Redemption East in Greenville.

Mrs. Andrea Gibbs, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Andrea Gibbs grew up in Elbert County and is a 2005 graduate of Elbert County Comprehensive High School. Following graduation, she received her Bachelors of Art degree in Early Childhood Education from Emmanuel College and began her teaching career at Hartwell Elementary School. 

In 2016, Mrs. Gibbs obtained her Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education and went on to receive an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont University in 2018. 

Throughout this time, Mrs. Gibbs continued teaching at Hartwell Elementary School where she served as a special education teacher, Kindergarten teacher, third grade teacher, and second grade teacher. In 2019, Mrs. Gibbs was named Hartwell Elementary’s Teacher of the Year. 

This year, Mrs. Gibbs will continue to serve at Hartwell Elementary in her new role as Assistant Principal. She is excited to pour into the community that has shaped her over the past decade. 

Mrs. Gibbs and her family reside in Hart County. She is married to Matt Gibbs, a Hart County High School alumni, PE teacher at Hart County High School, and Varsity Basketball head coach. They have two daughters, Nora (6) and Jude (7 months). They are members of Cross Roads Baptist Church. Together, their mission is to pour into the children and youth of Hart County. Mrs.Gibbs and her family strive to be examples of #onehartbeat.
